Children’s Outdoor Portraits
The weather is starting to warm up, which means it’s perfect time for children’s outdoor portraits!
Springtime Scenery in Children’s Portraits
For our shoot with Grayson, we chose to do an outside session. When you have a studio in a great location, you want to utilize the natural scenery when it’s in season. The flowers and shrubs in the background of Grayson’s pictures added pops of color that really stand out. Part of doing professional photography is knowing how to blend both outside lighting and natural settings to make truly photographic pictures. Another technique that we implement is the use of a reflector. This helps bounce off the natural outdoor lighting onto whatever person or object we want to highlight. The best times of day to really capture amazing outdoor pictures is mid morning or late afternoon/early evening. Here are some wonderful examples of mid morning natural lighting techniques:

Make Your Child’s Pictures Unique
Birthday portraits are very popular with families that have young children. We love photographing children on their special day! Since it was his 2nd birthday, we incorporated balloons into Grayson’s pictures. Children love having fun and unique props for their pictures. Props also offer a way for any profession photographer to ensure that the child is engaged and more photogenic during their session. You can add your own personal touch your child’s pictures. In fact, we strongly encourage it! Check out this source for inspiration.
