When we schedule a senior portrait photo session, we help our clients prepare. Senior portraits are an important milestone in a child’s life. We want to make sure that they have the best experience and the most beautiful senior portraits possible. We often discuss locations, clothing and props that help define who the senior is. When we photographed Kenzi, we already knew about her love for reading, travel, photography and more. We also knew that she wanted to include the beach as part of her photo session.

Kenzi is very creative and wanted a fun senior portrait. She wanted a portrait that would express that her senior year is here and there are going to be a lot of big decisions that have to be made. She wanted to highlight that time is literally running out on her childhood days.
Beautiful Senior Portraits with the Ringlight
When you are creating beautiful senior portraits, the ringlight is an excellent light source to choose. The ringlight is exactly what it sounds like, a ring of light. It is a beautiful, near-shadowless light, that creates stunning senior portraits. When you compliment the fan with a ringlight, you can create some dramatic portraits. If you look closely you will see the ringlight in Kenzi’s eyes.
Beach Senior Portraits
A favorite location a senior often chooses for photo session is the beach. Kenzi knew that she had to include the beach, but she also wanted to incorporate a family hammock that has been traveling with her family for years. She expressed wanting to hang the hammock under a pier. We had the perfect location! Sunset was the perfect time for that portion of her photo shoot. We often will use all the elements that we find in a location. For this beach stop, we starting photographing her on the walkway to the beach.

Our last stop on our senior photo shoot would be in the ocean at sunset. We had a beautiful girl, a beautiful sunset and you add some beautiful off camera lighting and you can create a beautiful sunset portrait.
