Wedding Photography Molly and Eddie Got Married
A beautiful couple + a beautiful venue = awesome wedding photography. This is the motto that Molly and Eddie should stand by. They are two beautiful clients both inside and out. We have had such an amazing time getting to know Molly and Eddie. We love to start building a relationship with our clients through their engagement session. That is where we learn more about their story. It also helps us figure out the best angles and poses for each client. Check out their engagement session. You will see that they are both amazing in front of the camera.
In talking to them both on multiple occasions, we knew that the venue for the wedding would be breathtaking. They chose to have their wedding ceremony and reception at the historic Upper Brandon Plantation.
Bride & Groom Upper Brandon Plantation Wedding
The Upper Brandon Plantation is an amazing property full of history. The main house was built in 1825. You can learn more about the Upper Brandon Plantation here.
Not only is the property filled with historical elements and buildings, it’s landscape offers the perfect backdrop for an amazing wedding.
Bride and Groom Walking Wedding Photography | Preparation and Detail Photos
We always begin our wedding day by photographing details. Detail shots are critical to a wedding. Our details shots not only consist of the gown, shoes, rings, etc, but every detail element. Our brides and grooms are spending so much time designing the perfect wedding day we make sure that we capture it all. If you are a wedding photographer and are stumped with what photos are critical on a wedding day, we can help.

Molly and Eddie, like many other couples decided to do a first look. We personally refer to it at our studio as a private meeting. It is simply a time where the bride and groom see each other for the first time. This private meeting is just that, private. We set up a beautiful location where they meet. This meeting takes place prior to the ceremony. We find that when a bride and groom see each other prior to the ceremony, it often helps them relax. During this time we are able to capture real emotion through our wedding photography.

Bride and Groom Kiss Bride and Groom Recessional Bridal Party Portraits
We love our time that we get to spend at a wedding with the bridal party. We strive to always capture great traditional portraits and well as more creative wedding portraits. Sometimes you feel like you have to wrangle a large bridal party in order to capture a great wedding photo, but as you can see, this bridal party was a piece of cake!
Guys Bridal Party Bride and Bridesmaids Groomsmen Look at this cute bridal party portrait with the ring bearer and flower girl. By this time of the day Lucy and Xander’s patience was running out. To keep them engaged we decided to incorporate a little fun. We told them that they could run in this picture. What a great way to create fun for a 2 and 4 year old and capture a great bridal party portrait!
Bridal Party Wedding Photography Portraits
Alas, our favorite portrait time of the day. We cherish the time we get to spend with the bride and groom on their wedding day. We love creating lasting memories and portraits. This day was no different. One of the more beautiful things we capture is the love between a bride and groom. A wedding day is one of the most happiest days in our couple’s lives. This makes capturing amazing wedding portraits easy for us. As a wedding photographer, we are responsible for posing and capturing amazing portraits. We strive to pose our creative wedding portraits in a way that look natural and more candid. We also try to also incorporate dramatic lighting to create some awesome wedding photos. If you are having trouble posing your clients, check out our Couple’s Posing Guide.

Aftershoot Norfolk Downtown & Beach – Mario & Meredith | Couples Lifestyle Photography
We had the joy of photographing Mario & Meredith’s wedding a few weeks ago and had them join us again for an aftershoot. Meredith put her wedding dress back on and Mario found a sharp looking suit and we hit the town. Aftershoots allow us to create some more “edgy” shots without having to keep Mario & Meredith pristine for their wedding day. We walked around some alleyways and streets of downtown Norfolk then headed to the beach for a quick romp through the water. Too cool! While these guys had shot with us a few times before, many of our aftershoot couples are first-timers with us wanting our style of photography but having already completed their wedding this is a great option! Here’s a few shots of our afternoon with this fabulous couple:

Hotel Roanoke Wedding Sarah & Aaron | Hayne Photographers Wedding Photography
A road trip to Roanoke was in order for Sarah & Aaron’s wedding at the Hotel Roanoke. The Hotel Roanoke was just oozing with history and nostalgia. We had such an awesome time as we met Sarah & Aaron’s family and even met up with our past bride & groom, Kate & Allen. The clouds were ominous as the ceremony approached so we had to move inside but even that did not dampen the excitement that was electric throughout the day! Hotel Roanoke has never looked better from top to bottom thanks to Corsair events. See for yourselves –

Wedding Virginia Beach – Bruce & Laura | Destination Wedding Photographer
We joined Bruce and Laura on their wedding day and the day could not have been more magnificent! We arrived at Haygood United Methodist where Laura was busy with her hair and make-up and Bruce was doing the groom thing – cutting up with the guys. We saw the dress on the hanger and it looked great without Laura in it we couldn’t wait to see her in it! We were not disappointed – All the Rage hit a home run again with this one! Turpins dropped off the flowers as guests began to arrive. With a few moments before the ceremony we were able to spend a few minutes with Laura for a few shots before she was hustled away to her awaiting Dad. The ceremony went off without a hitch and after a few shots with the family and the NEW hot couple we were off to the quaint little chapel then to One Fish Two Fish for the reception. Johnny with Astro DJ’s had the tunes playing as they walked in and the staff at One Fish Two Fish threw down some serious chow and the party started! Dancing, singing, and much laughter ensued (especially when Bruce took to the floor!) We stepped out for a moment at sunset as the sun dropped below the horizon lighting up the sky with an orange glow while the Lynnhaven river lapped gently against the pier. That’s prime picture taking time I’d say! Overall, the day was awesome with dash of magnificent thrown in – yup, that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it….. Here’s proof –

Wedding Chrysler Museum – Vinny & Christine
Vinny & Christine brought the house down at the Chrysler Museum last Saturday. An evening full of dancing and festivities with just a “few” of their family and friends was on tap and we were just along for the crazy ride! Vinny was airborne a few times with the help of all his brothers and Christine was simply stunning in her gown. Daevid’s Bridal Flowers did his magic to the bouquets & decorations along with the talents of Antonia Christianson Events the night went off without a hitch – can you say fab? I knew you could…. Here’s some of my favs from the evening:
