Indiana Wedding Photography As a wedding photographer, we love photographing in different locations. For most photographers this may be a challenge but for us, we thrive on it. We love the idea of being in a location that is unique to us. Indiana was one of those places. What seems so common for Indiana natives, is unique to others. Barns, prairies and cornfields really got us excited about Chris and Ashley’s wedding photography. Bride Getting Ready Photos We cherish the time that we get to spend photographing a bride getting ready. When we have mom involved in the process we love it even more. The time spent with a mom and daughter on a wedding day is valuable. Being chosen to be the wedding photographer is priceless. First Look Wedding Pictures Who doesn’t love a first look? Well, I can tell you as a wedding photographer we love it. We find that if a bride and groom decide to do a first look we get real emotion. The wedding day is a buzz and a first look seems to calm the soul. We find that during a first look a bride and groom get to really enjoy their time together, cherish each other and take a deep breath. While we are photographing the first look we stay rather stealthy so that we don’t interfere with the emotion. We position the groom facing away from where the bride will enter. We always choose an area where the groom will hear the bride approaching. The bride then will give the groom a little tap and when he turns around, the magic happens. Sacred Heart Church and Chrysler Museum Wedding Theresa and Victor were married at two of the most beautiful venues in Norfolk. Sacred Heart Church and the Chrysler Museum of Art. When you look at these stunning wedding pictures you may think to yourself, “Who couldn’t have a stunning wedding at those two venues?”. If you are thinking that, you would be wrong. A gorgeous flawless wedding like Theresa’s and Victor’s only comes under the direction of an excellent wedding planner. Ted Martinez of Ted Martinez Event Management was the key. Theresa and Victor gave Ted their perfect wedding vision and Ted and his team made it a reality. He not only made it a reality, he went over and beyond. The day started at the Norfolk Marriott. The hotel room was a buzz with the excitement of the wedding day. There we found the bridesmaids, the bride, the parents of the brides and some very special vendors. Sarah Rillon was a very busy make up artist creating flawless makeup and Pin Up Doll Hair Design was working her magic on the bridal party. The video team from Light Works Films was also capturing all the excitement on film. In the picture above you will see all the beautiful wedding details. With the unique wedding invitation being created by Kat Blu Studios, Day of Stationery created by Paper Stylist. They set the tone for the elegant wedding day. Sacred Heart Catholic Church Wedding Ceremony Loading up the bridal party in style they were transported by the Truffle Shuffle. Now it was time for the Filipino wedding ceremony of Theresa and Victor. (click on an image to enlarge) Theresa and Victor exited their wedding ceremony in style. What a fun balloon send off for the bride and groom. The wedding balloons were from Hi5Balloons. It was so much fun! Bride and Groom | Bridal Party Portraits After the wedding ceremony we headed out to the beautiful gardens of downtown Norfolk. The bride and groom arrived in style in a gorgeous vintage Rolls Royce from Royal Coach Limousine. (click on an image to enlarge) Chrysler Museum Wedding Reception Once we arrived at the Chrysler Museum of Art it was obviously that this wedding reception was going to be the pinnacle of the day. For a bride and groom the wedding day can become a blur so that is why it is so important to have great wedding photography to capture all the details of the day. Theresa and Victor’s wedding reception was full of amazing details. We love when our wedding day is surrounded by vendors that are truly the A-Team. Blue Steel Lighting set the tone for the entire reception. They made the ambiance of the room stunning. With the Florals and Designs by Ivie Joy Flowers & Events they made the room breathtaking. That was not where it stopped. The catering was by Cuisine and Company, the talented Jamestown Quartet, the gorgeous cake by Shockley’s Sweet Shoppe and caricature drawings by talented caricature artists for the guests. As the wedding reception processed, we were entertained by the sounds of the A-Town A-List. I have to tell you, hands down, one of the best bands I have ever heard. Chrysler Museum Wedding – Leo and Anastasia
The food just kept coming and the dancing was non-stop! If this is what having a Russian wedding is like than I am defecting… They do know how to throw a party! Leo and Anastasia took over the Chrysler Museum and made it their own for a few hours last week. They danced across Huber Court while their guests feasted on some authentic Russian cuisine put together by Cuisine & Company. We wish them the best and look forward to hearing amazing things about their new life together! Wedding at Norfolk Yacht Club – Nathan & Ashley
Some people find meaning in their job. Some in their kids. Nathan & Ashley found it in each other. They don’t need a wedding for it to show….they just ooze love & happiness. Their wedding was at First Presbyterian Church in Norfolk which just looked stunning with the cathedral ceilings and stained glass. The Norfolk Yacht Club is where the fun began with amazing food, music & dancing. It was a joy to spend the day with everyone! Congrats Nathan & Ashley!
Emily and Andrew – Newport News Wedding
Emily and Andrew got their game on last week and scored! It felt like home since we knew so many guests and the atmosphere was so laid back. Andrew serenaded his bride with his guitar and smooth voice while Emily just glowed with excitement all night! We were thrilled to be there and we can’t wait to see what life has in store for these guys! We’ll be watching! Here’s a few shots from the evening..
Beach Wedding Virginia – Amanda & Andy
Two of the coolest people are on tap for you today – Andy & Amanda! Pour yourself a big drink of this awesome couple and maybe, just maybe, you will be as in love with your significant other as Andy & Amanda are with each other. You catch all that? The Atlantic ocean was being nice to us and the sky was this amazing blue that slowly morphed into a glorious sunset. The pelicans even flew by for a cameo as they kissed on the lifeguard stand. Say what? Pelicans I said. The ringbearer and flowergirl were just the cutest together….I could have spent all day shooting them! Congratulations guys, welcome to the crazy world of married life.
Alaska Workshop – Bride & Groom Photoshoot
Alaska is big and far away. That did not stop us from heading north and putting on our teacher’s hat and hosting one of our No Rules Workshops in Anchorage, Alaska! We had just finished up our Aruba weddings so we criss-crossed our great land and landed at Nordby Photography where they hosted us for a few days of shooting and instructing. A totally different backdrop from our usual beaches and parks gave way to mountains and the great Alaska outback. This will go down as a most unique location with sunset around midnight and mountains and forests that only Alaska could offer. Here’s a few pics of our bride & groom shoot on the rocky coast of Alaska (more to come!) :
Aruba Destination Beach Wedding at Manchebo Beach – Norm and Oksana
Aruba seems to love us lately and we sure love that island! Norm & Oksana had us join them on that fabulous island for their intimate wedding at the Manchebo Beach Resort. We also spent the day with them prior to the wedding exploring the many unique locations for their pre-shoot. With 4-wheel drives we headed out to Bushiribana Gold ruins, Guadirikiri & Fontein Caves, the always amazing wild Windward side of the island along with the peaceful white sands of Eagle Beach. The wedding was right at sunset over the Caribbean Sea at Manchebo Beach where the palms waved and the sand slipped between our toes as we photographed this gorgeous couple. It was an international affair with family and guests from Ukraine, Australia, Vietnam and of course the USA (CA & VA)! It was a time we will never forget with Norm & Oksana and we wish them the very best on their new journey! Here they are:
Aruba Wedding Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa – Norm & Oksana
An intimate wedding was on hand at the Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa in Aruba with a few friends and family of Norm & Oksana. There was an international flair to the entire event with guests from around the globe. The Aruba westerly breeze was blowing as usual but it made for a wonderful beach wedding and reception. Eagle Beach with it’s white sands and turquoise waters provided an awesome backdrop for their beach wedding. We were anxious to meet Norm & Oksana for the first time since they are one of our many destination wedding clients that we have only Skyped with prior to meeting them in Aruba. They were even more cool in person than via the internet! The staff at Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa were wonderful and the night went off without a hitch. Congratulations Norm & Oksana and we look forward to seeing what is in store for you guys!
Aruba Destination Wedding Slideshow
The best way to enjoy Aruba is obviously to go there…. Since it is a few thousand miles away we figured we would bring a little bit of the Caribbean island to you! Jeff & Jing’s wedding at the Aruba Westin hotel will provide the backdrop for a slideshow of their wedding. We also threw in a few more shots of their tour of Aruba with us as we photographed them in some of the iconic locations around Aruba including, Bushiribana Ruins, Natural Bridge, Alto Vista Chapel and of course the amazing white sands of Eagle Beach. So many more places to see on this tiny island but for now come along on the magical mystery tour that is Jeff & Jing’s Aruba Wedding!
Renaissance Hotel Aruba – Oksana’s Bridal Shoot
We knew we had a home run wedding when we saw Oksana for the first time in Aruba! She was one of our 4 brides we photographed on our recent Aruba destination wedding flurry but she was special because we had never met her before – just via Skype. Seeing her gorgeous dress and her amazing flowers – we just had to take a few moments with her at the Aruba Renaissance Hotel and do some shooting with her around their immaculate grounds. The wind was a bit stiff but it just made her gown do the coolest things! The Renaissance hotel is right on the beach in Aruba so we had the beautiful panoramas of that along with their tropical gardens and pools surrounded by palm trees. Just 15 minutes with an amazing bride and magic happens! Here’s Oksana:
