Summer Senior Photography Session What’s a great way to celebrate school being out? By having a summer senior photography session! Contact us today for your session. Beating The Heat For Olivia’s session we started out in the studio. During the summer months it’s best to do indoor pictures during the day and outdoor pictures in the evening. It ensures that our client looks their best and hasn’t had the humidity effect their appearance. When doing indoor pictures we can utilize different lighting and backgrounds. Olivia brought a few sets of clothing and necklaces as statement pieces that made each image unique. We always encourage our seniors to add their own flair when it comes to their sessions. Want some ideas on what to wear? Check out our guide here. While she was having her session she wanted to do her drape portrait for school. We are the leading school photography company in the area and love it when our seniors do their school pictures with us! If you’re interested in reading about our school photography go here. Outdoor Portraits Since our studio is right near the ocean we wanted to do beach portraits to wrap things up. Late afternoon or early evening is the best time do to outdoor pictures. The lighting from the setting sun in addition to professional photographic techniques make for amazing images. Time management is also another thing photographers need to keep in mind. In order to get the great sunset shots make sure to do any other outdoor pictures before in a timely manner. A big mistake in photography is missing amazing pictures because proper time management wasn’t used. We started the outdoor portion in an urban downtown area. Then we moved on to a fishing pier and finished up on the beach. Olivia also wanted to include her sister in some of the pictures which we were happy to do. We love when our seniors want to include a friend or family member in their session. It makes for more memorable pictures and adds a bit of fun to the session! Trendy Senior Session At Hayne Photographers, being up to date with what is in style is a big part of who we are. That’s why we took Adrian on a trendy senior session. To book your senior session, contact us today. Cars Can Add To The “Cool” Factor We always encourage our senior’s to add their own special flair to their images. For this shoot, Adrian wanted to showcase his car. With different makes and models, it can make any session into a trend setter. Cars are a great way to incorporate professional lighting so that the photography stands out. The lighting technique we use is called off camera flash. The best time for capturing the lighting inside and outside the car is at sunset. At that time of the day you can be more creative with how you bounce the light off the vehicle and senior to create a unique photograph. Different locations can also add more character to the images. We chose the beach for Adrian’s car, as it offered different textures to the background that offset his vehicle. If you need help with your photographic lighting, we can help. Make Your Style Stand Out In addition to his car, Adrian wanted to show off his unique style in clothing. Showing off his urban fashion in a historic area made his pictures more photographically appealing. You can even make an indoor head shot stand out by adding in accessories that can draw the eye. For his head shots, Adrian incorporated a colorful bow tie to add to his amazing style. What to know what to bring for your senior session? Check out our What To Wear guide! Mark & Meghan Wedding Slideshow Half Moon, Norfolk Virginia | Wedding Photography
Mark & Meghan put together an awesome wedding for themselves and a “few” of their closest family & friends. We played a fly on the wall and took a few shots, listened to some sweet tunes, and enjoyed seeing a brand new couple start out on the right foot into a new life together. Check out the slideshow and you’ll see what I mean!
Engagement Session | Britt and Da Niel | Viriginia Wedding Photographer
Ah…it’s Tuesday afternoon and love is in the air. We just love the fact that we get to document people’s lives through photography. Britt and Da Niel are on the path to heading to the alter and they have entrusted us with their memories. On a Friday afternoon, we got to stroll around the beautiful downtown Norfolk are captured some awesome urban and historic areas with this beautiful engaged couple! We love the chance to do on location photography, especial outdoor photography when the weather is as beautiful as the couple that we are shooting. Here they are…Britt and Da Niel…the engagement session
Aftershoot Norfolk Downtown & Beach – Mario & Meredith | Couples Lifestyle Photography
We had the joy of photographing Mario & Meredith’s wedding a few weeks ago and had them join us again for an aftershoot. Meredith put her wedding dress back on and Mario found a sharp looking suit and we hit the town. Aftershoots allow us to create some more “edgy” shots without having to keep Mario & Meredith pristine for their wedding day. We walked around some alleyways and streets of downtown Norfolk then headed to the beach for a quick romp through the water. Too cool! While these guys had shot with us a few times before, many of our aftershoot couples are first-timers with us wanting our style of photography but having already completed their wedding this is a great option! Here’s a few shots of our afternoon with this fabulous couple:
Mary & Turner Aftershoot Norfolk | Couples Photography
Mary and Turner returned for a late afternoon shoot at the Japanese Gardens in downtown Norfolk with us and it was great to get to know them a bit more after we shot their wedding a few weeks ago. Aftershoots are a ton of fun and they have even been called “therapeutic” since it is a separate shoot from their wedding day where the bride & groom can let their hair down so-to-speak. Away from the hustle & bustle of the wedding day our Aftershoots offer our couples a refreshing time where we can do some more creative shooting without the risk of getting the gown a bit dirty on the wedding day! In Mary & Turners case her dress from Maya Couture made it through just fine but some of our bride & grooms end up in the water or rolling around in the beach…..you name it! Mary’s make-up was terrific thanks to the talents of Kim Wadsworth and we even did some studio shooting to show that off. So, if you want a do-over for your wedding day, or in Mary & Turner’s case just an evening out together for a few stress-free shots in your wedding attire – contact us and we’ll set up your own Aftershoot just for you!
Wedding Slideshow Town Point Club – Tonya & Corey | Wedding Photography
Just a sneak peek into Tonya & Corey’s amazing wedding day at the Town Point Club in downtown Norfolk. We dodged a few raindrops but the party roared on through the rain & wind. It was a joy to hang out with them and get a few really cool shots! Check out the slideshow and you’ll see what I am talking about….
Wedding Town Point Club Norfolk – Tonya & Corey | Hayne Photographers
Tonya & Corey rolled out the red carpet for their wedding day complete with Bentleys, a live band, a bridal suite overlooking the Atlantic and a dress to die for! We were thrilled to be invited to photograph their wedding day. We have never seen the Town Point Club dressed to the “T’s” like it was for their reception – simply breath taking thanks to the team at Graceful Designs. A brief downpour didn’t put a damper on their day as the wedding guests overlooked Waterside as the wind and rain swept by to reveal a starlit evening. We wish Tonya & Corey the best as they kick-off the crazy world of marriage!
Greek Orthodox Wedding – Krista & Chuck
What a beautiful and memorable day we spent with Chuck & Krista as they were married at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral. We strolled around downtown Norfolk on what the city would call, “a Chamber of Commerce Day” for a few shots as well. The evening was spent at the Downtown Marriott as the dancing and celebration continued. Such a perfect day for the perfect couple. Congrats Chuck & Krista!
No Rules Workshop – Norfolk Photography Workshop
So we spilled the beans at our latest workshop as we met some real neat folks and dished out some serious knowledge. We just happened to have a most amazing model for the day as we explored the streets around our studio and messed around with some lights in the studio too. Thanks to Erin, our model for turning on her glam for us! Stay tuned for our next workshop as we may be headed your way soon, check it out here – www.norulesworkshop.com. Vinny & Christine- Chrysler Museum Wedding
Take a peek into Vinny & Christine’s fabulous wedding day. All made possible with a great looking couple, Kim Wadsworth, the Chrysler Museum, Antonia Christianson Events, Blue Steel Lighting, Daevid’s Bridal Flowers, oh yeah…and some pretty nifty photography. Ready….set…go!
Maternity Photography – Heather & Gerry
Umm. Sorry ladies. Don’t expect to look this good at 8 months. I was kinda hesitant to post this Maternity shoot on the blog since it’s just not fair to anyone thinking about getting pregnant. Inserting disclaimer here: RESULTS MAY VARY. NOT ANY ALL PREGNANCIES LOOK THIS GOOD. I mean really, it’s just not fair. Gerry didn’t do so bad either. I have a feeling they are going to have one sharp looking baby in the next few weeks. More jealousy ensues.
Wedding Chrysler Museum – Vinny & Christine
Vinny & Christine brought the house down at the Chrysler Museum last Saturday. An evening full of dancing and festivities with just a “few” of their family and friends was on tap and we were just along for the crazy ride! Vinny was airborne a few times with the help of all his brothers and Christine was simply stunning in her gown. Daevid’s Bridal Flowers did his magic to the bouquets & decorations along with the talents of Antonia Christianson Events the night went off without a hitch – can you say fab? I knew you could…. Here’s some of my favs from the evening:
