Contact us today for your session. Outdoor Photography Fun For the first portion of Tori’s photo session we wanted to do pictures outside in late afternoon. It is the best time for the great lighting and we were able to get more photographic images. The area we chose for her outdoor photos had some amazing cobblestone roads. We really wanted to incorporate them into her images. Since the roads provided a nice background we decided to use her car and an antique chair we had on hand as props. When doing professional photography you have to think on your toes when it comes to outdoor settings. There was also some great brickwork on the outside of the buildings that we thought would go wonderfully with our pictures. When you use texture in the background it adds interest to your photo shoot. Tori decided that she wanted to add in her own personal touch by blowing confetti for one shot. We always love it when clients add their own flair to their photo session! Gorgeous Indoor Studio Portraits After the outdoor portion of the session we decided to do some indoor head shots. Since the outdoor segment was fun we decided to do a more professional indoor head shot session to contrast it. Tori wanted serious but not too serious for her studio shots. We were able to do that by adding in an age appropriate background along with soft lighting. Half the battle of doing professional photographic pictures is making sure the lighting and background compliment whoever you’re shooting. We are very big in the school photography scene and were able to take her year book portrait during her session. To schedule your senior pictures, contact us today. Unique Photography Props When you’re taking pictures outside, it’s always best to think outside the box for prop ideas. On this shoot, we thought it would be wonderful to add vintage vehicles into the shoot. They added to the overall rustic chic look Haley had been wanting for her senior session. What are some different and unique props you would like to incorporate into your pictures? Outfits also help make any image stand out. When planning your session, think of what outfit will go with the props you have in mind. Here’s our senior photography What to Wear guide. Outdoor Locations For Haley’s session, we took her to the country. It was a beautiful day for outdoor pictures, and the scenery was perfect for the lighting on the shots we were wanting. For professional photographs, it is important to have good lighting. Late afternoon is the best time for any outdoor pictures. Afternoon light offers less shadows which creates better portraits. The foliage is the most photographically appealing and provide a natural back drop for our seniors. For something to contrast the rural setting from the first portion of the session, we took her to an urban downtown area. The textures in the iron gate and graffiti in the alleys really made both locations stand apart from each other. Both settings added in elements that showcased Haley’s diverse taste and interests. Spring Senior Pictures Spring senior pictures are some of the most fun to shoot. This year we had an amazing time on our session with Schuyler! To schedule your senior pictures, contact us today. Unique Senior Pictures At Hayne Photographers we love to give our seniors a unique experience. For their session love going to awesome locations that provide wonderful images! First we went to an open field and incorporated some of the beautiful flowers. We used what was in bloom this time of year. We love to utilize natural elements that add another dimension into our senior pictures. You can see this in some of the photos and they turned out gorgeous! How To Prepare For Your Senior Picture Session When you are preparing for your senior photo session, you may want to consider accessories that will compliment the scenery. This added to the look that we had envisioned for the shoot. We added in different textures to give our images diversity. This helps with the creative photography process. Senior Portraits We are senior portrait photographers and we love creating a variety of styles of senior pictures. We think that senior portraits should be fun, unique and have a balance of style. In our senior photo sessions we love to bring a little bit of all styles. We blend traditional portraits with more modern portraiture. We are able to change the style of our photography by changing our lenses, lighting and locations. In a normal senior portrait session we will photograph one to two hours. If our high school seniors opt for a one hour photo session we generally will stay close to our studio. With our photography studio being located in the historic area of downtown Norfolk we are able to incorporate texture, parks and an urban feel to our backgrounds. In a two hour senior portrait photo shoot, we generally incorporate an additional location. Most of the time seniors want to be photographed at the beach. Sometimes our high school seniors want to do a Trash the Dress Session. (click on image to enlarge) Trash the Dress Photo Sessions Trash the dress sessions started for brides that wanted to do fun portraits in their wedding gowns. This has been a huge movement because Trash the Dress sessions are so much fun. I believe that the fun comes from doing something in a beautiful gown that you are not suppose to. Some examples would be, getting in the ocean in your gown, or maybe running through the alleyways of downtown. When we photograph Trash the Dress sessions, we are able to create one of a kind portraits. We have had so much fun photographing Trash the Dress sessions with our brides that we decided that we would offer Trash the Dress sessions with our high school seniors! It has been a blast! She is a Class of 2015 Grassfield High School student. We were so excited about Karlie’s senior photo session. We had a hunch that her photos would turn out gorgeous and I think that you will agree. She is varsity cheerleader at Grassfield High School. Gymnastics has also been a huge part of her life. She is a a member of Grassfield’s Student Council Association and involved in class office. She loves to volunteer especially for organizations such as CHKD. In her free time, she also loves to shop and just relax on the beach or just enjoy nature. I think that you would agree that Karlie should add to her list that she loves taking stunning senior pictures! Senior Pictures in a Field We love finding a great spot for senior portraits. We are always on the search for a great field. Fields always add interests to your photos, especially if you use a variety of lenses. We love to shoot each location with both telephoto lenses and wide angles. When you do this as a photographer you can create a lot of unique portraits in a small area. He is one of our Class of 2015 Senior Models for our studio. We chose Nick because we felt like he would photograph well. We also thought he would be a great representative for our studio. Our goal for our senior models is to provide the great senior photos. Also that they will share the photos with everyone. We also want them to share their experience about their photo shoot. We began Nick’s senior photo session at the studio. We always try to capture a variety of images in the studio before heading out to photograph on location. Here are a few of our favorite studio pictures. We had so many favorite photos of Nick it was hard to choose which ones to post. On Location Senior Portraits We always like to include an on location photography segment with our clients. We live in such a beautiful area that we enjoy using a variety of backdrops. With Nick we stayed in the downtown area of Norfolk for his senior pictures. He attends the Governor School of Arts in Norfolk focusing in film. He loves creating short films and wanted to incorporate his video camera in a few pictures. Urban Senior Pictures We spent quite a bit of time photographing Nick downtown. We love having different colors and backgrounds in our portraits. The park is usually a great place to find an array of that. Here are some of our favorite senior photos of Nick at the park. I will tell you that some of my personal favorite photos are the ones with him and his dog. We love incorporating pet photography into our photo shoots. He is a Hampton Roads Academy senior. We have been waiting to photograph him for a few years now. Our photographic journey with his family started a few years ago. It started by photographing his older sister’s senior portraits. That Christmas we began photographing family portraits to create custom Christmas cards for the family. That has become an annual event. We recently photographed his father’s retirement ceremony from the military. Now it was Trey’s turn. Trey is an avid athlete. He has always excelled in sports. He always cross trains in various sports which makes him strong, flexible and a well rounded athlete. Trey’s latest love is with Crossfit. We were unfamiliar with Crossfit so we weren’t sure what to expect. We quickly adapted creating some pretty cool shots of Trey at the Crossfit gym. Football and LaCrosse Senior Pictures Once we had worked up a good sweat at the Crossfit gym, we headed to the studio. Trey is currently playing football and it top in his game. We were able to create some cool football pictures with him. (click on image to enlarge) Hobby Senior Photos Trey has learned to play the guitar. He is a self taught musician! He wanted to incorporate his cool electric guitar into his senior pictures. Madison is like one of our own. We have watched him grow up into a fine young man. At this point, Madison is probably flush in the face reading this. We have know Madison for a number of years. We started the photographic journey with his family by photographing his family’s wedding. It just seems like yesterday, however, when I look at the images of from their wedding, it almost reduces me to tears. Where do the years go? We have followed his family by photographing family portraits, senior portraits for his older brother and now it was Madison’s turn. Madison is a excellent student, a singer, a boy scout, just a short distance from earning his Eagle Scout, a crew member. He is avid outdoorsman. Madison decided to incorporate casual senior portraits, crew senior pictures and hiking and biking senior pictures. When you are photographing on the beach you have to have great light. That only leaves you two options. The first option would be during overcast skies. The second option would be during the golden hour. The golden hour in photography is one hour prior to sunset. That is exactly when we took Ashley’s beach portraits. Since she is use to being in front of a camera, Katie was wanting the best senior portraits. We knew with Katie’s background as a fashion model she would be easy to photograph. Honestly, it is our job as photographers to make every high school senior look like a model in front of the camera. Katie’s senior portrait session started one hour early at the studio. She had chosen to have her make up applied by a professional make up artist. She understands the importance of a flawless look. With a large studio it gives us ample space to have hair and make up artists available at the studio. Have a look at our studio. Studio Senior Portraits We began photographing Katie’s senior portrait session inside the studio. We have several unique sets that allow us various options to capture unique pictures. We also have a variety of lighting sources from soft boxes, natural light to the beauty dish. With all these options we can create multiple looks. (click to enlarge picture) Ring Light Pictures Next we moved on to ring light pictures. The ring light definitely helped create some unique senior pictures! The ring light is cool technology that gives a very distinctive pattern of light in the eyes. It also creates a halo shadow behind the subject that is unique to the ring light. It is also is a very flattering light source for our clients. If the ring light pictures are processed correctly, you will get images that wow. Outdoor Senior Pictures We took Katie outside of our studio and created some great senior photos. We often use the high grassy areas to pose our high school seniors. We also pose them in our foliage in our outdoor area. By using this technique it creates depth in our images.
