Chrysler Museum Wedding – Leo and Anastasia
The food just kept coming and the dancing was non-stop! If this is what having a Russian wedding is like than I am defecting… They do know how to throw a party! Leo and Anastasia took over the Chrysler Museum and made it their own for a few hours last week. They danced across Huber Court while their guests feasted on some authentic Russian cuisine put together by Cuisine & Company. We wish them the best and look forward to hearing amazing things about their new life together! Here’s a few shots as we strolled around Botanical Gardens and spent the evening at the always fabulous Chrysler Museum:
Wedding at Norfolk Yacht Club – Nathan & Ashley
Some people find meaning in their job. Some in their kids. Nathan & Ashley found it in each other. They don’t need a wedding for it to show….they just ooze love & happiness. Their wedding was at First Presbyterian Church in Norfolk which just looked stunning with the cathedral ceilings and stained glass. The Norfolk Yacht Club is where the fun began with amazing food, music & dancing. It was a joy to spend the day with everyone! Congrats Nathan & Ashley!

Concert Shoot at The Norva – Audiostrobelight & Kaboom Box
Something new and different for a Friday post! We don’t do many concert shoots but I must say it is a bucket load of fun to do! We got some shots of Audiostrobelight and Kaboom Box doing their thing along with Stage Right Lighting lighting up The Norva. Concert shoots are a whole different animal with a ton of energy and constantly changing lighting conditions. It can be a challenge capturing the energy and music through the camera but I think we were able to . Here’s a taste of the evening at The Norva!
Wedding Slideshow – Long Island, New York – Ryan & Xavia
Ryan & Xavia have got the whole love thing down – and it shows. A wedding at the amazing Chateau Briand on Long Island provided the perfect showcase for their most perfect day. We also worked in a 3am trip to Times Square where we basically had the whole place to ourselves! After spending all day and into the next with them they didn’t miss a beat. They’re not just talking the talk. They’re walking the walk. They’ve got love and it’s bigger than the Big Apple.
Welcome to the New Hayne Photographers Blog!
There comes a time in everyone’s life when a new blog must be created. That’s somewhere in the writings of Thomas Jefferson I am sure. Well, that time has come for us as we seek to explore strange new worlds…but I digress. We have finally accepted the fact that our images deserve a much nicer venue to shine and we have decided to take the road less traveled….but I digress again. Our blog comes to us courtesy of Flosites who turned the whole blog idea on it’s head by introducing a horizontal scrolling layout much like an iPhone. So, four score and seven months ago our fore-fathers…er, our old blog set out to showcase our work in a new fashion but alas, has quickly become dated. We hope you enjoy the new layout and enjoy it with your friends because after all, it takes a village. Go ahead jump in and drop us a note if you stumble on an error as we are still populating it with images that will blow your socks clean off….and that can actually be a good thing. So what is this blog all about? It just depends on what the meaning of the word “is”, is. Explore it for yourself and embrace all that is Hayne Photographers Blog.
The Booth! Sara & Eric’s Wedding
A little known fact – Our booth makes the coolest things happen and we get to take pictures of the whole thing! Sara & Eric gave their guests the time of their lives at their wedding with amazing food, dancing and of course the photo booth. It’s always a blast to bring the booth to any event but Sara & Eric’s wedding provided us with the most amazing personalities and we got it all on camera! Here’s a few of our favorite shots from this most “Wonderful Night”.
Wedding at the Signature at West Neck – Sara & Eric
A group of sharp looking guys meet up with a flock of beautiful women. I took some shots. The craziest thing happened! Sara & Eric got married and we got some really cool pictures! This all took place at the fabulous Signature Golf Course at West Neck. The guests sat in the gentle breeze underneath the enormous gazebo along the river to watch Sara & Eric enter into wedded bliss….. It’s so cool to see people that we have photographed before too – just an added bonus on top of the most perfect day. All of our weddings are cool but this one just oozed with slick sophistication with a touch of excitement. Here’s just a taste of the day:
Andy and Amanda
Come hang out at the beach with Andy & Amanda on their wedding day! Kick your feet up and take a break. It’s on us!
Sandbridge, Virginia Beach – Mitch & Caitlin Trash the Dress!
What an amazing couple that totally gets photography! They picked a cool location. Wore some fresh duds. Looked like a couple in love. What more could a photographer ask for? Um, how about a roll in the water with waves crashing all around – sure, why not? Mitch & Caitlin were up for just about anything and I am confident I could have put them in a dumpster and they would have figured out a way to make you wish you could be in a dumpster too…. It’s freakish what happened when I pointed a camera at them! Of course, it helps when we have the most perfect sunset and a backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean (secretly I thing the sun and ocean were in on the whole thing – Mitch pulled some strings.) We hung out with them at the Back Bay Nature Preserve where the spiders played nice (they were everywhere!) and the waves put on a nice show. Here’s Mitch & Caitlin and their friends, Ocean & Sun.
Emily and Andrew – Newport News Wedding
Emily and Andrew got their game on last week and scored! It felt like home since we knew so many guests and the atmosphere was so laid back. Andrew serenaded his bride with his guitar and smooth voice while Emily just glowed with excitement all night! We were thrilled to be there and we can’t wait to see what life has in store for these guys! We’ll be watching! Here’s a few shots from the evening..
New York City, Times Square – Ryan & Xavia’s Aftershoot
The Big Apple is our backdrop for this shoot with Ryan & Xavia in Times Square, specifically. I would have been tickled to just photograph all the lights and glitz of 42nd street but give me an awesome bride & groom and that just kicks it up a notch! We hit the empty streets of Long Island at 2:30AM for a cruise down to Times Square to capture Broadway’s lights with a few less people in the way. The streets were empty except for a few taxis and New York’s finest so we had the whole place to ourselves. Say it with me now – Awesommmmme….. A big high five to our couple for allowing us to capture them on a shoot of a lifetime! A few pics from our 3am excursion:
Long Island New York Wedding – Ryan & Xavia
I had one of “those” days last week. Not the kind you think though. It was a big “ah-ha” moment when it occurred to me that THIS is why I love my job so. Beautiful people at a killer location that get our photography. Yeah, that’s the ticket! Ryan and Xavia tied the knot at the fabulous Chateau Briand in Long Island, New York. Where was the last time you saw a bride and groom make their entrance THROUGH the floor in a cloud of smoke. So bizzare, yet so totally cool. Our destination weddings are getting better every week and this one certainly sets the bar high for all of you bride & grooms abroad! I challenge you to find a gown to top Xavia’s ostrich feather masterpiece or Ryan’s most suave suit. Total class down to the initials on the cuff links. I have a feeling we will be seeing more of these guys on this her blog – can you say Times Square? I have a vision…. Check out the new power couple –
Beach Wedding Virginia – Amanda & Andy
Two of the coolest people are on tap for you today – Andy & Amanda! Pour yourself a big drink of this awesome couple and maybe, just maybe, you will be as in love with your significant other as Andy & Amanda are with each other. You catch all that? The Atlantic ocean was being nice to us and the sky was this amazing blue that slowly morphed into a glorious sunset. The pelicans even flew by for a cameo as they kissed on the lifeguard stand. Say what? Pelicans I said. The ringbearer and flowergirl were just the cutest together….I could have spent all day shooting them! Congratulations guys, welcome to the crazy world of married life.
