Meet Brenden, finally a handsome guy who is one of our Senior Model Team 2013 Members. Brenden was selected to be one of The Senior Experience’s models that will represent our studio for the next year. He is a lifeguard, musician and just a high school senior! Meet Ally, one of our 2013 Senior Model Team. Being a part of The Senior Experience’s gives you quite the experience for amazing senior portraits. We love being able to capture who our high school seniors are through their senior portraits. With Ally, she is a hip hop dancer. Instead of doing the traditional dance poses, we took a trip to the downtown area where we did some urban hip hop portraits. Shooting them in an environmental portrait fashion helped bring who she is to life. Ah….it’s that time of the year. It’s the time that uprising seniors are preparing to have their high school senior portraits done. We love this time of the year. Whether we are shooting our portrait session in the studio or on location, we love it. Here’s Tatiana. She wore lots of cool clothes and we shot in lots of cool locations. We were able to photograph with vintage cars, on a vintage couch, and finally trashed the dress. What a great time, creating great memories, capturing great photographs. Ahhh….Lucas….a senior boy for senior portraits. We just love that. Since we have 2 boys of our own, we just love it when the guys come in for their senior session. Lucas is a skater and a current senior and will be graduating in June. With Lucas and his vibe, we thought it would be cool to capture him in an urban setting. Lucas has a sister named Haley, which you will see here. We did her senior pictures in 2010. We just love it when families return to us! Check out Lucas and all his coolness….
Trash the Dress or Trash the Formal | Ashley | Virginia Senior Portrait Photographer
Sometimes it’s just fun to do something that is not the “typical setting” for a certain type of couture. That is exactly why we love doing Trash the Dress and Trash the Formal Shoots. Sometimes we find ourselves out shooting in the breaking of the waves of the Bay or Ocean. Then sometimes we find ourselves shooting in the depths of an urban setting in the dirty, yet beautiful alley ways of downtown and on top of buildings. That’s exactly what we did with Ashley. Ashley came to her shoot in the perfect color for a Trash the Dress in an outdoor location. We didn’t really trash her dress, but had fun trying! Here’s Ashley

We love photographing out high school seniors. Our studio is in such an awesome area that we can easily incorporate a variety of looks including an urban feel by just stepping outside of our studio. Having access to such a great area gives us a variety of backdrops in a matter of minutes. We are anxiously awaiting our big senior season that will be beginning in a couple of months. Introducing our 2013 Senior Model Team! We are excited to present our new team for 2013. We have a great group of kids representing many different high schools in our area. Every year we pick a hand full of uprising high school seniors to represent our studio for their senior portraits. WPPI 2012 | Virginia Portrait Artist | Virginia Wedding and Destination Photographer
We have spent most of February out speaking at different venues, in different states, and before many photographers sharing how we do what we do. We have traveled from Florida to Arizona all in a short 29 days. We love the opportunity to hit the road and share about our photographic experience. Since the photographic industry has changed from photography film to digital, there are many changes that have been made in the way that we shoot, process and market. One of our stops in the month of February, was in Las Vegas, speaking at our national photography conference called WPPI. WPPI’s (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) attendance is generally 12,000 – 15,000 attracting photographers from all over the globe, so to be able to share there is an honor. This year we shared about wedding photography, both stateside and international, and about senior high photography . Thank you WPPI and H&H for the opportunity to share! Here are a few shots from the day. You can tell how passionate we are about sharing. It seems that every shot we have our mouths open!~

It’s always a real honor to be published, but to be published in a national magazine like Shutterbug, is a REAL honor. We have had many opportunities to share our story, business tips and images with the world for many styles of our photography, but this time Shutterbug Magazine focused on Senior Portraits. The title of the article “High School Senior Photography…Four Top Photographers Share Tales of the Craft” was a article that partnered us with other leading senior photographers in the industry. It is a blessing just to be named with the rest of these in the article. Thank you to Shutterbug and thank you to Steve Bedell that saw something in us and believed in us and wanted to highlight us in this article.
