Professional Senior Portrait Session

Professional Senior Session

Professional Senior Portrait Session Are you a high school senior that’s graduating this year? Are you looking for a way to celebrate? Then schedule a professional senior portrait session today! Contact us today for your session. Outdoor Photography Fun For the first portion of Tori’s photo session we wanted to do pictures outside in late afternoon. It is the best time for the great lighting and we were able to get more photographic images. The area we chose for her outdoor photos had some amazing cobblestone roads. We really wanted to incorporate them into her images. Since the roads provided a nice background we decided to use her car and an antique chair we had on hand as props. When doing professional photography you have to think on your toes when it comes to outdoor settings. There was also some great brickwork on the outside of the buildings that we thought would go wonderfully with our pictures. When you use texture in the background it adds interest to your photo shoot. Tori decided that she wanted to add in her own personal touch by blowing confetti for one shot. We always love it when clients add their own flair to their photo session! Gorgeous Indoor Studio Portraits After the outdoor portion of the session we decided to do some indoor head shots. Since the outdoor segment was fun we decided to do a more professional indoor head shot session to contrast it. Tori wanted serious but not too serious for her studio shots. We were able to do that by adding in an age appropriate background along with soft lighting. Half the battle of doing professional photographic pictures is making sure the lighting and background compliment whoever you’re shooting. We are very big in the school photography scene and were able to take her year book portrait during her session. Senior Photography

It could be a still shot from any blockbuster action packed movie…and the star: Drew. Svelte and collected, Drew is leaning against a brand new Camaro. The street scene looks like it might be located in New York or L.A. Where is he? Norfolk, Virginia. Who is he? A Deep Creek high school senior photographed by Scott Hayne. Contact us today to scheduled your senior photography.   Drew’s mother dreamed about having her only son’s senior portraits taken by Scott. She first saw Scott’s photography in 2008 when she view the photos from her friend’s wedding. What a privilege it was to photograph this impressive young man, especially knowing how proud his family was that day. Drew was smartly dressed. His suit blew us away. He picked out his attire and the bow tie especially for the photography session. No fumbling around with the bow tie the day of the shoot; he tied it himself without a second thought. It may seem like a minor detail. But not to us. His demeanor impressed us. When shooting a senior pictures, we want to know all about your interests and the things you like to do. Drew is a star baseball player and a car lover. Finding the appropriate props to express his interests was easy. He even cleaned and waxed the car before the shoot. This was a great idea because details count! We chose the city street location because we thought it reflected Drew’s personality and melded well with his prop. We think Drew looks like a film star. That’s what we think that about all the senior students that come to us for their senior pictures. Take a look at our senior photography portfolio and see for yourselves! Or, consider being part of The Senior Experience model team. When we plan your high school senior portraits session, it’s all about bringing out your inner star. Virginia Beach Senior Portraits

Contact us for your Virginia Beach senior portraits sessions today. Virginia Beach Senior Portraits Outdoor senior portraits is one of our most favorite types of photography that we do. We are in an area that is beautiful. The surrounding texture and color gives you such great opportunity to create stunning backgrounds in each of your photographs. MacKenzie is from Pennsylvania. She could not find a senior photographer that met the desire for unique senior portraits. Knowing that she was set on Virginia Beach senior portraits, she started looking online for a senior photographer. Our seniors want to be different and individual. MacKenzie knew that we would be able to provide those unique portraits for her. MacKenzie is a regular model for Seventeen Magazine. As a model she generally has a studio photography session. She decided she didn’t want to do any studio shooting since that is a normal event. She requested all outdoor senior portraits.   When thinking about her session she had mentioned possibly photographing her on railroad tracks and she definitely wanted beach portraits. In thinking about her requests we knew that we would have no problem meeting them. MacKenzie understands how important professional make up is in photographs, so we schedule a make up artist to meet her at our studio prior to her session. Because of it’s importance in a finished picture, we always offer professional make up services. Having a large studio, and a dressing area, it provides the perfect space for professional hair and make up services. Having those services available at the studio allows a client to make our studio a one stop shop. View our studio here. We first headed out to a field where we started our outdoor senior portrait session. We brought our vintage couch on location. Bringing a piece of furniture to a photo shoot adds interest to a photograph. It also gives us the opportunity for more posing ideas. Outdoor Senior Portraits   Our next stop was the railroad tracks. One thing we learned early on was that if we were going to use railroad tracks in our outdoor senior portraits, they can not be live tracks. Discovering a good set of unused railroad tracks will help create Finally we photographed MacKenzie’s beach portraits. We always choose a portion of the beach that will have several background options. Being that she wanted Virginia Beach Senior Portraits taken, this location fit the bill! In these pictures we were able to incorporate a pier, jettys and the surf. Having all these background options allowed us to create some unique senior portraits. Photographing at sunset is best to capture the golden light. Sunset Beach Portraits Click on an image to enlarge   Are you looking for outdoor senior portraits that are unique to you? We are in American Photo Magazine!

Hey, get outta bed and head for the bookstore! We’re in the American Photo magazine – how cool is that? American Photo seeks out the cutting edge trends and photography that inspires us all. We are so honored to have the centerfold of their senior photography article, “Coming of Age”. Chris & Tammy Billey of Largo photography and Huy Ngyuen from f8 studio contributed a well so we are in great company! We’ve been published before in many magazines but American Photo? C’mon, that just blows my mind. Wait, I’ve gotta go look at it again. Yup, still there….thought I was dreaming for a sec. It’s never good to blog about a dream. Whew! Here’s a few shots –

Trash the Prom Dress! Meredith Style….

Another Trash the Prom Dress for you from the most fabulous Meredith! With the heat lately it was kinda nice to jump in the water and get some great shots of Meredith in her pink prom dress….in the sand and water of the Chesapeake Bay. Here she is!

Trash the Formal at the Beach!

Off to the beach for another gorgeous shoot with a few of our favorite senior high school gals – but with a twist! Not your normal frolic in the water, instead we left the formal gowns on and dove in head first! Alex, Olivia, and Sarah were real troopers as they did an amazing job looking beautiful while completely trashing their prom dresses. Not easy to do but from the looks of it they were having the time of their lives! The sunset was perfect we came up with a “few” good shots….okay more than a “few”. Here’s some of my fav’s from the sunset photo shoot on the beach with the girls and their prom gowns!

Trash the Formal! Say what?

Yeah, I see all the Moms out there saying that! A dip into the ocean on a gorgeous day….in your formal gown. Call it odd or weird – I call it a ton of fun and I think our models would too! Alex, Ashley, Caroline, Michelle, and Sara did their model thing with the waves crashing around them and we came up with some really unique shots. We provided the gowns and they provided the “glam”. Summer is a great time to do this with the water warm and the sun setting is just the right spot for some killer shots. Thanks to our models for really getting into it and putting their makeup on and promptly getting it all washed off…

Meredith – Senior Photography for the Vintage at Heart…..

A 2011 Senior model that is a photographers dream. Need I say more? She’s just that good! She had a vintage vibe to her so we worked that into our shoot with a 1920’s Amelia Earhart kinda look. It was a surprise to all of our models when we arrived at our various locations but when we ended up at the Military Aviation Museum she was thrilled. But wait there’s more – Out came the 1941 Stearman and it was a little bit of heaven for Meredith. We splurge a bit on our senior models but it’s so worth it since they are our ambassadors in all the local high schools. We are always on the look out for unique and exciting locations for our photo shoots and this was a homerun for both us and for Meredith! Check her out for yourselves!

SPA model 2010 – Brittany!

Brittany comes from the cold plains of North Dakota courtesy of Aspen Studios. She joined us in San Diego for SPA 2010 and we spent the afternoon with her on the sunny beaches of Coronado. Here’s a few shots from our day cruising around the Hotel Del Coronado!

Caleb

Caleb is one of our 2009 senior models and he held the banner high for his shoot! He looked great but I can’t say that about his hockey bag….it downright stunk up the place for sure. That’s cool tho’. It’s all about the image right? He’s got that part down…. Here’s Caleb!
