Military Family Photography
Military Family Photography Contact us today to photograph your military family portraits! Military family photography is an important event in every military family’s life. Photographing military families is something that we are proud to be a part of. Being in the military at one time in my life I realize how important military family photography is. Some various times that a military family will have us photograph their family portraits is before deployment, after deployment and when making a new rank. Another great opportunity for military family photography is at military homecomings. At that time families are gathered together for this huge patriotic celebration. Meet the Critides family. They came to us to have their military family portraits taken on the cusp of Carl making rank and prepping for a long deployment. We love when the family prepares for their portrait session by wearing their dress uniform and also bring a secondary outfit. We began their photography session at our studio. We love using our giant American flag as a backdrop for our military family photography. If you would like to view our studio, you can view it here. Then we moved on to creating a unique family portrait by keeping the sailor front and center with the family holding him closely. Using the white background keeps the image simple and bold at the same time. After photographing in the studio, we traveled to the beach for a few beach portraits at sunset. Sunset is the best time to photograph at the beach because of the warm soft light. When photographing families, we always include a few special pictures of the siblings alone and together. A few shots of mom and dad together will always be a photograph that is cherished. We always keep our photo shoots fun by capturing candid moments of the family having fun enjoying their time together. If you would like to view more of our family portraits check out our portfolio. Performing Artist Senior Photography
Performing Artist Senior Photography Contact us today to schedule your senior photography! Performing artist senior photography is something that we do quite often at Hayne Photographers. Having a great school like the Governor’s School provides us great opportunities to photograph performing artists. Bryan is performing artist specializing in Jazz. He wanted us to capture his senior portraits in a way that shows off his abilities as a dancer as well as his personality. We photographed him doing actual dance moves in our studio. We had him jumping and using his dance skills. Check out our studio. A great tip when shooting performing artist is having music playing in the background. Always choose music that the artist is familiar with. By doing this you will be able to capture real fluid motion in their dance positions. With dancers they prefer to check their images immediately. This allows them to ensure that they position was correct when captured. Having the dancer bring every element of a costume makes an photograph interesting. Reminding your high school senior clients that it is important to have full costumes, head to toe, will make your performing artist senior photography a success. One of the elements that Bryan brought was his hat which made a unique senior picture. After Bryan’s dance portraits we were able to use our same lighting set up to capture some great studio portraits as well. After photographing in the studio, we headed outside in our outdoor photography area. There we were able to photograph him in a more relaxed setting. To make an interesting photograph, it is always good to have texture in the background. Finding areas of good texture is simple. You don’t have to have a large area if you shoot tight with a zoom lens. Using a zoom lens gives the background compresses the scene so that your subject will appear to be closer to the texture then it actually is. Are you a performing artists looking to have your portraits taken? Or are you a high school senior looking for unique senior portraits? If so, contact us today!

Newborn Portraits in Our Norfolk Studio Meet sweet Ashton. How can you not adore newborn portraits? Oh, how I wish we had come into the photography industry when our children were babies. We photographed her mommy and daddy their entire pregnancy and then photographed her at just 5 days old! I feel like I’m an important part of my clients lives and that’s a wonderful compliment! Anna’s Senior Pictures Lighting can be a photographer’s best friend or worst nightmare. Knowing how to use natural light to your advantage is key to capturing amazing senior photos. The dramatic effect of the light behind Anna in this outdoor shot really evokes the mood we wanted to set. The use of the ring-light in our studio creates an ethereal effect in portraits that’s just stunning. Anna’s portrait glows; her eyes pierce in this photo. The Urban backdrop is another element we wanted to highlight in Anna’s senior portraits. Use of textural backgrounds, whether indoors or out, help us accomplish this. Like many seniors, Anna was a bit nervous about her photo session. But, we prepare our students with helpful hints on what to wear and bring to make the photo shoot a breeze. Anna coordinated her outfits perfectly and brought lots of accessories to pull it all off. Once she was prepared and we did the shoot, she loved the experience. Enjoyed seeing Anna’s senior pictures? We strive to reflect the senior’s interest and personality in each of their photographs. Meet Bri. She is a beautiful high school senior that it studying to be a pastry chef. Thinking about these attributes we spoke with Bri and her family to instruct her on the items she may want to include in her senior photography. We knew that photographing her in her pastry chef uniform would fun and create some unique senior portraits. Some key props that we included were flour, her uniform, cooking utensils and anything else that would help enhance her senior portraits. We began photographing Bri in the studio in a casual outfit. With the accessories of a leather jacket and cowboy boots we knew exactly what to use for lighting and a background. Using the natural light area of our studio was perfect. Virginia Beach Senior Portraits
Contact us for your Virginia Beach senior portraits sessions today. Virginia Beach Senior Portraits Outdoor senior portraits is one of our most favorite types of photography that we do. We are in an area that is beautiful. The surrounding texture and color gives you such great opportunity to create stunning backgrounds in each of your photographs. MacKenzie is from Pennsylvania. She could not find a senior photographer that met the desire for unique senior portraits. Knowing that she was set on Virginia Beach senior portraits, she started looking online for a senior photographer. Our seniors want to be different and individual. MacKenzie knew that we would be able to provide those unique portraits for her. MacKenzie is a regular model for Seventeen Magazine. As a model she generally has a studio photography session. She decided she didn’t want to do any studio shooting since that is a normal event. She requested all outdoor senior portraits. When thinking about her session she had mentioned possibly photographing her on railroad tracks and she definitely wanted beach portraits. In thinking about her requests we knew that we would have no problem meeting them. MacKenzie understands how important professional make up is in photographs, so we schedule a make up artist to meet her at our studio prior to her session. Because of it’s importance in a finished picture, we always offer professional make up services. Having a large studio, and a dressing area, it provides the perfect space for professional hair and make up services. Having those services available at the studio allows a client to make our studio a one stop shop. View our studio here. We first headed out to a field where we started our outdoor senior portrait session. We brought our vintage couch on location. Bringing a piece of furniture to a photo shoot adds interest to a photograph. It also gives us the opportunity for more posing ideas. Outdoor Senior Portraits Our next stop was the railroad tracks. One thing we learned early on was that if we were going to use railroad tracks in our outdoor senior portraits, they can not be live tracks. Discovering a good set of unused railroad tracks will help create Finally we photographed MacKenzie’s beach portraits. We always choose a portion of the beach that will have several background options. Being that she wanted Virginia Beach Senior Portraits taken, this location fit the bill! In these pictures we were able to incorporate a pier, jettys and the surf. Having all these background options allowed us to create some unique senior portraits. Click on an image to enlarge Choosing when to do your outdoor senior portraits at the beach is critical. We always choose to photograph our beach portraits at sunset. Photographing at sunset is best to capture the golden light. Sunset Beach Portraits Click on an image to enlarge Are you looking for outdoor senior portraits that are unique to you? Product Photography | Dimitry Custom Bikes | Virginia Commerical Photographer
Are you looking for someone to take care of your product photography? If so, please contact us! Every craftsman deserves great product photography that shows off their work. Many hours go into producing a product that is worthy of selling. Without good unique product photography your buyers may no see it as you intended. This custom bike is a great example of how to showcase your product to the world. Product Photography This custom bicycle came to our studio where we photographed a few shots indoors and out. We started with some full-length images to show the sweeping lines and cool paint job. Here’s a Product Photography tip: It is always important to let the viewers understand what you are photographing first before doing close-ups. Product Photography Location Shooting Our setting for our product photography shoot was an urban grunge scene that fit well with the bike’s looks. A studio set allows us to photograph products in controlled light. This is especially important when photographing the products texture and color. Detail Photos Product photography must always includes details of the product. The springs on the front forks and the cool treads on the tires are captured using close-up lenses. Details can be easily missed if the photographer does not examine the product closely for unique features. On Location Product Session Shooting outdoors fit this product well where it fits into the environment perfectly. Using reference items to allow the viewer to understand the size of the item is important. For this product photography shoot we used a pair of legs to accomplish this. A variety of lenses were used since the bike had details that were important but the overall look was equally important. A telephoto lens was perfect for the outdoor shots. A wide angle lens showed off the sweeping lines of the bike’s frame. A macro lens should be in the bag of every product photographer to get those details. Unique product photography is key to getting viewers to understand your product. You can see more of our product photography example here. If you have any questions or would like to reserve your date contact us today! If you are interested in viewing more of our commercial photography check out our portfolio.
